The image from the internet shows a woman sitting on the street with her dog, along with a sign that says "homeless..broke...and hungry! Kindness helps!". Her belongings are also surrounding her. This photo provokes sympathy and sadness as the woman has nothing, but also because she is looking down at her dog who she is trying to comfort with hugs. These types of images show the realistic truth of Homelessness, and how most people on a daily basis walk past homeless people on the streets.
My image was taken when I was in London, on the London Bridge. Here, we have a man sitting in the corner on the street, with his backpack and blanket wrapped around him, along with a sign that says "Hungry and Homeless, Please help, Thank you, Have a nice day". This photo makes me sad because the man has nothing, but also makes me smile because despite what he is going through he is still wishing for everybody else to have a nice day, which is genuinely sincere. In this photo, the man looks ashamed as he is staring down at the floor.
These photos are connected because they emphasise the importance of helping people in need, whether that be because they are homeless or for other reasons. In both images, the person isn't looking into the camera, instead they are both looking down. Most people on a daily basis ignore people on the streets who are homeless because they are 'too busy', however photos like these highlight that homeless people are desperate and literally have nothing, as they carry their lives in a bag.
